The Tourism Group is currently contracted to operate three of Australia’s busiest Accredited Visitor Information Centres. They include:
The Tourism Group continues its award-winning operation of the Accredited Explore Centres at both the International and Domestic Terminals of Brisbane Airport. Brisbane Airport Corporation first appointed Southern Queensland Tourism a subsidiary of The Tourism Group in 2002, expanding from the International Terminal to also provide visitor services at the Domestic Terminal and establish Australia’s leading Airport Ambassadors program of volunteers.
The operation of the accredited visitor centre for Tourism Western Australia was awarded to The Tourism Group in mid-2018. Our Western Australia team operates the Western Australian Visitor Information Centre, located in the heart of Perth’s city centre.

Our Airport Ambassadors are dedicated community volunteers who generously donate their time to support travellers throughout Brisbane Airport. You’ll find them across both the International and Domestic Terminals, especially during peak travel periods, offering friendly assistance and local insight.
Each of our 165+ Ambassadors completes a comprehensive three-month training program, equipping them with an in-depth understanding of airport procedures as well as tourism information across the wider Queensland region. From navigating terminal layouts to advice on accommodation, transfers, and tours, our Ambassadors are ready with helpful answers.
With volunteers from a wide range of professional backgrounds — and the ability to speak over 20 different languages — the program brings together an impressive breadth of skills, enabling us to assist travellers from all over the world. Collectively, they contribute exceptional customer service, going the extra mile to make each visitor’s experience easier and more enjoyable.
You can easily spot our Ambassadors in bright blue shirts with a canary-yellow “i” (for information) on the back as they roam the terminals, creating memorable moments as proud “Day Makers.”
Their dedication has been formally recognised, with the program awarded Gold in the 2015, and Silver in the 2025 Queensland Tourism Awards, for Outstanding Contribution by a Volunteer Group. The volunteers were also formally recognised by Skytrax in 2025 when Brisbane Airport was awarded Best Airport Staff in Australia/Pacific. The appreciation for these individuals is ongoing, and every day we are reminded of the remarkable impact they have on the passenger experience.

| Airport Ambassadors sort returned flight food under strict safety standards. Together with contributions from across the city, this work helps OzHarvest deliver more than 2.7 million meals to local charities each year. | The Brisbane Airport Ambassadors support charities such as Mates 4 Mates, Forgotten Women, Share the Dignity, The Biggest Morning Tea and more. | Our Ambassadors are joined by adults with disabilities from the Tertiary Place who assist in restocking brochures at the Visitor Information Centre and experience being in an airport. |
